New Restaurant Unlocked! Well, new to me at least. Moon Rabbit opened in 2022 and is a modern Vietnamese gem located on West 19th in the Houston Heights. You won't see the name on the building, but a small sidewalk sign out front let's you know you're in the right place.

Parking: There are a few parking spots next to the restaurant, a parking lot across the street, and parking along the street is also an option. As always, be mindful and keep personal belongings out of sight or take them in with you.
Experience: Moon Rabbit is a casual neighborhood restaurant that's quite popular. Walk-ins are welcome, but I recommended making reservations, especially in the evening. My husband and I have dined here twice without reservations after 7 PM. On one occasion, we were seated after about 20 minutes; on the other, we dined at the bar. Bar, table, booth, and patio seating are available. The staff are kind, welcoming, and happy to offer menu suggestions or share their favorite dishes. Something to keep in mind: if you're cold-natured like me, bring a sweater. I'm not sure if it depends on where you're seated but, I've gotten a little chilly at times.
Food: I'll start by saying, FLAVORFUL and WELL-PLATED. The menu is simple with a variety of reasonably priced options that are perfectly portioned for sharing (in my opinion). You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. During one of my visits, a fellow diner mentioned the Bun Rieu is a must, so that's next on my list.
Here's what I've ordered over multiple visits :
Egg Rolls
Salt and Pepper Squid
Morning Glory
Roasted Oysters
Banh Beo
Garlic Butter Noodles
Honey Lime Chicken with Steamed Rice
Shrimp Spring Rolls
Crab Pockets
Blistered Shishito
Miso Marinated Claypot Fish
MR Fried Rice
Cucumber Salad
Bread Pudding
Pandan Coconut Cake
Garlic Soy Wings (not pictured)
Shaken Beef (Not pictured)
Moon Rabbit has become one of my favorite Houston restaurants. The service, flavors, and atmosphere are consistently two thumbs up! Check it out if you haven't already. I promise, you'll be back...again, and again, and again :-) Compliments to the chef!
